Getting Started
Which devices does VoiceWork work on?
iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac and the web at app.voiceworkapp.com. Your notes stay in sync across all of them.
Is there an Android app?
Android is on the way. Until then, you can use the web app at app.voiceworkapp.com in any browser.
Do I need an account?
No. You can start on iPhone right away. Later you can sign in with Apple, Google or an email address to keep your notes when you change phones and to use them on other devices.
How do I contact you?
Reach us anytime at support@voiceworkapp.com.
Recording
What are the quickest ways to start a recording?
Tap record in the app, or use the Record a note widget on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, or the Record a note control in Control Center.
You can also say "Record a note" to Siri, use the Shortcuts app, or assign the Record a note shortcut to the Action Button on iPhone models that have one. While you record, a Live Activity shows the timer on the Lock Screen.
Can I bring in recordings I already have?
Yes. Share an audio or video file to VoiceWork from Voice Memos, Files, WhatsApp and other apps. Common formats work, including m4a, mp3, wav, mp4, mov, aac, ogg, opus and flac.
How long can a recording be?
Up to 15 minutes on the free plan and up to 2 hours on a paid plan. The free plan includes 120 minutes each month.
VoiceWork keeps misspelling a name. What can I do?
Add it to your custom vocabulary: open Settings, then Custom vocabulary, and add the word or name. You can add up to 100 terms of up to 5 words each. VoiceWork uses them when it writes the transcript and the summary.
Apple Watch
How do I record on Apple Watch?
Open VoiceWork on your watch and tap the record button. You can also use a watch face complication, ask Siri to record a note, or use the Action Button on Apple Watch Ultra.
The watch records even when your iPhone is not nearby. The recording is sent to your iPhone when it is in range again, then turned into a note.
Mac
What does the Mac app do?
It records from the menu bar, including both sides of a call: your microphone and the sound of the call app. You can watch the transcript as it happens.
Start and stop a recording from the menu bar, with the shortcut Option-Command-R from any app, or with Siri and Shortcuts. When a meeting app starts using the microphone, VoiceWork can ask whether you want to record it.
How do I sign in on Mac?
Use the same account as on your iPhone: sign in with Apple, Google or an email code, and your notes appear.
Web App
How do I sign in on the web?
Go to app.voiceworkapp.com and choose Sign in with the VoiceWork app. Scan the QR code with your iPhone, or type the code shown on the page into the app, and approve. You can also sign in with Apple, Google or an email code.
You can sign out of all browsers at once in the app.
Sharing & Export
How do I share a note?
Open the note, tap Share link and create a link. Anyone with the link can read the summary and to-dos. They can't edit anything, and your audio is never shared. Turn on Include transcript if you want the transcript to be visible too.
Tap Turn off link at any time and the link stops working.
Which export formats are there?
PDF, Markdown, plain text and subtitles (SRT). SRT needs a transcript with timestamps.

In VS Code with GitHub Copilot, add {"servers":{"voicework":{"type":"http","url":"https://mcp.voiceworkapp.com/mcp"}}} to .vscode/mcp.json. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http voicework https://mcp.voiceworkapp.com/mcp in your terminal, then run /mcp to sign in.
When the VoiceWork page opens, scan its QR code with your iPhone camera or type the code in the app.
What can a connected AI app do with my notes?
It can search and read your notes: titles, summaries, to-dos and transcripts. It can't edit or delete them, and your audio stays on your device. It can add new notes only if you tick Create notes when you connect it.
To disconnect, open Settings, then Connect AI apps in VoiceWork, and tap Revoke. Access ends right away.
Best Practices
What are some best practices to use VoiceWork?
Capture thoughts regularly and without overthinking. The more you save, the more context the AI has to organize and link later.
Keep notes brief and centered on a single subject when possible. Short entries are easier to find and nicer to revisit in the future.
Soft speech or background noise is fine. VoiceWork is tuned to capture your voice clearly.
If your language is not supported (for example, Icelandic), set your preferred language to English and record anyway for a strong translation.
Privacy
Are my notes really private?
Yes. Notes are private, never used for model training, and only accessed for authenticated user requests.
Can you access my voice recordings?
No. Your recordings are stored locally on your phone. To create the transcript, a recording is sent to our servers and our transcription providers, and it is deleted from our servers once processing is done.
AI
What AI models do you use?
For transcription we use ElevenLabs Scribe, which also tells speakers apart, and Whisper Large v3 Turbo through Groq. Summaries, translations, to-dos and answers are written with models from Google (Gemini) and Anthropic (Claude). The models we use can change as better ones become available.
Subscriptions
How to cancel your subscription?
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. Tap your Apple ID at the top, choose Subscriptions, select VoiceWork, then tap Cancel Subscription.
What happens after cancellation?
Your subscription stays active until the current billing period ends. After that, your account moves back to the free plan.
Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?
No. Cancel the subscription in your Apple account settings first, as described above, then delete your account in the app.
